Our alpine hut was completely rebuilt and extended in 2021 so that we can offer you even more relaxed, pleasant and beautiful holidays.
The Stiendlalm is located in the Villgratental on the Thurntaler, a side valley of the East Tyrolean Pustertal in beautiful East Tyrol and is one of the most pristine natural and cultural landscapes in the entire Alpine region.
The Villgratental is part of the mountaineering villages and is known for many rewarding mountain tours, the circular trail "Herz-Ass", the long-distance hiking trail "Osttirol 360°" and for being a snow-sure ski touring area.
The hut is located in the Hochpustertal skiing area at about 2,000 metres above sea level, right next to the ski lift.
Of course, the Stiendlalm is rented out all year round. The alp is easily accessible on foot, by bike, on skis and of course also by car. The mountain road is also passable in winter, but we recommend chains depending on the snow conditions.
In winter you have to reckon with a short walk of about 5-10 minutes, as there is no direct access to the hut. However, the short walk is definitely worth it!
To ensure that you want for nothing during your holiday, the hut offers electricity from a photovoltaic system, running hot water and underfloor heating in the bathroom. You need internet? No problem! The WLAN offers unlimited download volume and up to 100Mbit. The TV in the kitchen has a SAT connection and a Netflix account.

Attention - the hut is not directly connected to the electricity grid. Electricity is generated by a photovoltaic system and we also use it to heat the hot water. The battery capacity and the boiler are designed for the usual needs of a hut - but we would like to point out that electricity and hot water are therefore not available indefinitely.
In case of shortage, the batteries can be recharged by means of a generator. Room layout: The entire living area of the hut has a total of 64 sqm, divided into the following rooms: entrance area, kitchen/ living room (17 sqm), 2 bedrooms (16 sqm each), bathroom. There is room for up to 5 people in the two generously designed bedrooms. (3 beds in bedroom 1, 2 beds in bedroom 2). Cooking and heating is done in the cosy parlour on the rustic wood stove. Of course we provide enough wood for this. The kitchen is equipped with crockery, cooking utensils, a coffee machine and a TV. Should you not feel like cooking - our Schmankerlkistl contains prepared regional specialities. Alternatively - about 150 metres from our hut is the Almgasthaus Thurntaler Rast. Here hikers, skiers and visitors are excellently catered for both in winter and summer.
